Designer Spotlight: Eleanor Kalle

TopShelf stylist Randi Tutelman not only offers consistent (and spectacular) fashion advice to our online shoppers, but she also is an incredible jewelry designer as well. Today we are excited to give an insider’s look at her brand Eleanor Kalle, her inspiration as both a stylist and a designer, and of course, her young and fresh styling advice.

Randi Tutelman on Her Personal Style:

“If I could define my style in five words they would be: effortless, bold, feminine, classic and unique. I consider myself a savvy shopper. I enjoy playing dress-up, but also enjoy a casual comfortable look during the day. I like taking risks with colors, patterns, and textures. When shopping around, I enjoy mixing and matching high and low end designers. Shopping is a process; I like to change things up and not shop based on trends.” – Randi

About Her Brand, Eleanore Kalle:

TopShelf Clothes | Eleanore Kalle

Eleanor Kalle is a lifestyle brand featuring functional fashion jewelry for the adventurous girl inside all of us. The New York-based brand focuses on versatile statement necklaces and handchains, all of which are handmade with love in America. Newly launched by Randi Tutelman and Amy Mazius, the designers use their free spirited method to create bold pieces.

So, where can you buy them? In addition to their official site, Eleanor Kalle is sold at Milly on Madison Avenue and is actually expanding with Milly into the Middle East. Additionally, the talented duo will be showcasing their brand at Henri Bendel’s upcoming Pop-Up Shop this February.

What’s up next? Amy and Randi are thrilled to announce the upcoming debut of their Spring/Summer 2014 collection. “Designing with a “grunge-chic” girl in mind, Eleanor Kalle sees summer as a time to play with dripping jewels and minimalist shapes. Using the hard vs. soft aesthetic, Spring/Summer 2014 is all about fluid geometry. Look out for lilac stones and metallic hardware.” – EK

Now, ready to see some pieces? Today we asked the Eleanore Kalle team to style a few of their favorite pieces:

“This look takes a trend we especially love—the boyfriend fit—and adds a sexy feminine twist. We paired Rag & Bone boyfriend jeans in a light wash with a crisp white Theory oxford.  Team them with Ivanka Trump’s spring floral sling backs for just the right softness and top it all off with Eleanor Kalle jewelry!” - EK

Shop the look: Theory Larissa II Luxe Top; Rag & Bone JEAN Boyfriend Jeans; Ivanka Trump Pointed Toe Halter Back High Pumps

Eleanor Kalle Look #2:

TopShelf Clothes | Eleanor Kalle

“Staying on trend with ‘sensory overload’ for spring is cool and effortless with Clover Canyon neoprene pieces. We started this look with a statement-sleeve printed top. Pairing it with a high waist skirt dresses up the trend; we chose this Nameless skirt with an interesting hemline to play off the top’s bold pattern (plus, it’s a steal under $40!).

Our Eleanor Kalle statement necklace will add a polished finishing touch. We chose The Taja necklace, which complements the colors in the Clover Canyon top. Plus, gunmetal one of our favorite colors for spring.” -EK

Shop the Look: NAMELESS High Waist Front Slit Skirt; KOTUR Glitter Globe Minaudiere; Joan & David Pointed Toe Arant Ankle Strap Pumps; Clover Canyon Cigar Granny Top

TopShelf Clothes: 2013 Year in Review

As we look back at 2013, we can’t help but share all that we’ve accomplished here in the TopShelf Clothes office. In addition to officially opening our private beta site to the public, we’ve had numerous press pieces and additions to the TopShelf team. Today we are taking some time to look back at our proudest 2013 moments as we prep for the exciting year ahead!

Year in Review: In the Press

TopShelf Clothes | Year in Review

We’ve had some really great press features this past year with WWD, Refinery29, Third Wave Fashion and InStyle’s September issue to name a few. Our 2013 press was not only amazing for getting the TopShelf name out there, but we really took the time to show people who we are as a company as well. One project, called the TopShelf Style Ride allowed us to sponsor a free shuttle car in the Hamptons. TopShelf Founder and CEO, Katie Nadler spent a few summer Saturdays in the Style Ride herself, talking to beachgoers about the brand and really getting to know our new customers.

Year in Review: TopShelf Team Additions

TopShelf Clothes | Year in Review

This year we have also been fortunate to add a few outstanding new members to the TopShelf team. In September, our new COO Degelis Tufts came on with fresh ideas, drive and an incredible energy that have really helped transform the team. We also acquired our superstar intern Morgan Hoffman, who has made countless contributions since her start. In addition to our growing in-house team, we spent the past 12 months building our elite team of stylists who have years of experience in anything from personal styling to high fashion editorials. And last, but certainly not least, we expanded our team of developers, adding Ed Tsigal and Botond Denes, each who have an extensive backgrounds in fashion e-commerce.

Year in Review: We’re live, ladies!

TopShelf Clothes | Year in Review

We couldn’t wrap up the year without mentioning that our Beta site is officially open, meaning no more required invite code! This feat was especially exciting, as we can now share our love for easy, personalized styling with a much greater audience. With TopShelf you can bring your closet online with a click of a button and receive online personal shopping recommendations to work with your style and budget. It’s free to join and free to receive weekly outfit suggestions.

Choosing a Versatile Sandal for Summer

TopShelf Clothes | Versatile Summer Sandals

Finding the perfect summer sandal can be difficult when there are so many trendy styles out there. Rather than walking aimlessly into a store or spending hours weeding through online options, we decided to ask TopShelf stylist Randi to share her words of advice.

Stylist Pick for Versatile Sandals: The Lucite Trend

TopShelf Clothes | Versatile Sandals

“Summer is finally here and there is no better way to celebrate than by going shopping for a versatile pair of sandals. If you are unsure of what will match your summer wardrobe, your best bet is to go for a great neutral shoe. Subtle details can make just as bold of a statement as bright colors and prints. The sandals in this look do just that; they enhance the outfit while still keeping the attention on the glamorous swimsuit. I especially love the strappy details, which offer a sporty edge and compliment the femininity of the overall look. In addition, the runways this season highlighted Lucite fashion. These Janay Perspex Mix Flat Sandals are a totally wearable option for the Lucite trend.  And remember, your sandals should both compliment and complete your outfit.” – Randi

Shop The Look: 1. ASOS Scarf Print Beach Dress; 2. ASOS Contrast Panel Belted Bandeau Swimsuit; 3. French Connection Set of 5 Textured Rings; 4. Faith Janay Perspex Mix Flat Sandals; 5. Jeepers Peepers Vintage Clear Oversized Sunglasses
