New York Fashion Week has come to a close, however we’ve been keeping tabs on all of the mini trends to hit the runway. So, what can you expect to see in stores next fall? Aside from the usual fur accents, muted color schemes, and lengthy layers that come with fall fashion, designers have put fresh spins on classic trends that we cannot wait to try. From timeless turtlenecks to unexpected strapless cuts, we’re sharing some of our favorite trends from the fall 2015 runways.
NYFW Fall 2015 Trend: Turtlenecks
Thought there was just one way to wear turtlenecks? Think again. Jill Stuart brought summer dresses to fall fashion, teaming sleeveless frocks with turtleneck tops. Michael Kors stayed true to the classic trend, mixing perfect fall layers for a modern, monochrome look. BCBG Max Azria brought a boho vibe to the runway with a fringed white mini, a loose-fitting turtleneck, and contrasting knee-high boots.
NYFW Fall 2015 Trend: Strapless
While “strapless” probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when discussing fall fashion, designers are proving it is an absolute must for 2015. The NYFW runways favored bare necklines and minimalist cuts, making the strapless look a timeless, seasonless staple. Cushnie et Ochs transformed a simple pant look into an eye-catching outfit with a monochrome base and modern choker. Dion Lee kept it classic with a navy, flowing cut and high slits. Bibhu Mohaparta brought color to the scene with contrasting cobalt and white fabrics.
NYFW Fall 2015 Trend: Lace
From full-on dresses to the tiniest details, lace was everywhere. Altuzarra utilized lace in understated necklines, pairing the delicate fabric with luxurious fur. Diane von Furstenberg brought excitement to her line with an entirely red lace dress that featured contrasting black trim. 3.1 Phillip Lim balanced heavy fall layers with a sleek lace blouse for an easy street-chic look.
